Wednesday’s Mid-Week Slump Song – Dew On The Vine by Bear’s Den

Hello again! So for the second time this week I have chosen a band with bear in their name (some sort of weird theme for this week, perhaps?) T listen to today’s track click below …

In 2012  Andrew Davie, Kevin Jones and Joey Haynes got together and formed what is now known as Bear’s Den (by the anyone noticed that the one surname that really should have an S on the end doesn’t?) The band toured the USA in a camper van in 2014 alongside fellow musicians Ben Howard, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Staves; this tour became the subject of documentary ‘Austin to Boston’ (has anybody ever heard of this documentary?!?) One of the bands most well known songs Above the Clouds of Pompeii , from their debut album Islands, earned them a 2015 Ivor Novello nomination for ‘Best Song Musically and Lyrically’.

On the 4th February 2016, 5 months before the release of the bands second album, banjo and guitar player Joey Haynes decided to leave the band to spend more time with family and friends. Then on July 22nd 2016 the band released Red Earth and Pouring Rain, which charted at number 2 in the UK Official Charts. this album is based on the concept of driving home in the dark (I know a bit quirky, right?), but when they were writing the tracks they tried to think of tracks that would be good to listen to on a drive home in the dark.

I hope you like this track but I just have one question does Dave or The King of Balls win the tournament?

Guitar Girl signing off xx
