Monday’s Get-Going Song – Too Good At Goodbyes by Sam Smith

On Friday, after 2 years away, Smh Smith released his new single! After 2 years away everyone was expecting something amazing and he delivered, click below to listen to the  new single Too Good At Goodbyes …

Now some of you may not be familiar with Sam Smith but for those of you not let me tell his songs will reduce you to tears one minute and the next make you smile, all through the power of his voice! The first track that introduced the world to the voice Sam Smith was Latch by Disclosure, this track peaked at number 11 in the UK Official Charts; he then went omg to feature on Naughty Boy’s La La La which peaked at number 1 in the UK Official Charts and became the 5th fastest selling song of 2013. In 2014 he won 4 Grammy awards for Best New Artist, Record of the Year (for Stay With Me), Song of the Year (for Stay With Me) and Best Pop Vocal Album (for In The Lonely Hour).

This single has been much anticipated for 2 years, ever since he sung the Bond theme for Spectre. When you listen to this single at first it may not seem like the best song to cheer you up at the start of the week, but if you listen again you’ll start to understand what I mean. The effortless transition between the upbeat second verse and the goose bump inducing, tear-jerking, stripped back chorus which show cases his voice; as the song progresses you’ll see what I mean after a while it makes you feel happy but sad as well.

Let me know what you think, are pleased at the return of Sam Smith or do you feel a bit let down by this single?
