New Music Friday – Noah Kahan

So today is Friday which means more new music for me to introduce you all to! Today I have chosen to feature one of my favourites artists at the moment (drumroll please!)…

Noah Kahan!

Click below to check out his debut single ‘Youngblood’…

Noah Kahan’s debut ‘Youngblood’

Noah Kahan is an American singer-songwriter who combines folk and pop to create a beautiful sound that embraces his unique tone. Kahan grew up on a tree farm in Vermont and began writing songs at the age of eight! Pretty soon Kahan realised that he wanted to make a career out of his love of music and songwriting and whilst in high school began asking friends in the business if they could help.

Aged twenty Noah Kahan was approached by Joel Little (producer of Lorde’s ‘Royals’!) who wanted to collaborate resulting in Kahan being signed to Republic Records aged 20! Over two years Kahan has been on a real roller-coaster ride gaining 5 million listeners on Spotify and supporting George Ezra on tour.

Kahan has been very open about how overwhelming this has been, telling Foundations Music “My life has taken a 180° turn, I’m on a very different path than what I thought I would do.”. This feeling has led to one of his new singles, ‘Mess’, which Kahan says was born from feeling “Really overwhelmed with a lot of stuff in my life”. To listen to mess click below…

Noah Kahan is due to release his debut album ‘Busyhead’ on June 14th and I will definitely posting a review! Kahan has gone from strength to strength over two years and surely the only way is up!

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below and, as always, let me know suggestions for artists I should feature.
